The Music of Elton John
February 14, 2010
8 p.m.
If you’ve listened to popular music over the last 35 years, you’ve been touched by at least one Elton John song. In his four-decade career, John has become renowned as much for his emotionally resonant lyrics as for his piano-based rock and roll, but it is his sensitive orchestral arrangements that truly distinguish him as a musician.
In an irresistible combination, the Lima Symphony Orchestra will be joined by the Canadian group Jeans ‘n Classics to bring you The Music Of Elton John. We will integrate the warmth of symphonic music with the hard-driving rhythm of rock and roll in an evening of classic rock meets orchestra sure to delight.
The rock musicians and headlining stars from Jeans ‘n Classics will be backed by our orchestra as they perform some of the Rocket Man’s greatest hits, including:
Funeral For A Friend
Love Lies Bleeding
Have Mercy On The Criminal
Levon
Your Song
Honky Cat
I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues
Tonight Prelude
Madman Across The Water
Philadelphia Freedom
Take Me To The Pilot

Daniel
