Gift of Music

Celebrate a birthday, anniversary or other special occasion, pay tribute to a friend or business associate or memorialize a loved one with the gift of music.
Imagine our professional symphony orchestra playing a piece of music just for you. By supporting the Lima Symphony Orchestra’s Gift of Music program, you will help us bring beautiful music to life by sponsoring part of the cost of the music we play.
As the sponsor of the purchase or rental of music, your generosity will be recognized in our concert program book, and you will receive a copy of the front page of the score signed by Maestro Crafton Beck. We will continue this program throughout the season, but please make your purchase by August 15, 2010 to be included in our program book.
Did you know?
Did you know that only 37 percent of the symphony's income is generated through ticket sales? This means that nearly two-thirds of what we pay to create outstanding music must come from other sources. Your Gift of Music partially underwrites these costs:
$661 Actual music rental for Benjamin Britten’s Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra
$225 Recording cost of each concert
$1,000 Sound engineer each time the chorus performs
$4,500 Average orchestra travel costs for each Grand Series concert
$350 Audition expenses for orchestra members
$50 Candle inserts for each Mozart by Candlelight performance
$350 Backdrop for Bells, Brass and Bows
$75 Truck rental for non-Civic Center performances
$350 Actual music rental for David Itkin’s Twelve Days of Christmas
