Scaling Infinity
November 12, 2011
7:30 p.m.
The Lima Symphony Chorus opens a concert of transcendent musical beauty with Ralph Vaughan Williams’ exquisitely sweet and tender Serenade to Music. Celebrate the glories of childhood innocence, the struggles of adulthood and the final assent to the infinite reaches of heaven with Strauss’ tone poem, Tod und Verklarung. Violin soloist Stefan Milenkovich will join us with one of the best known and most technically difficult violin concerti, Tchaikovsky’s grand and balletic Violin Concerto in D, a brilliant whirl of rhythmic energy, lightness and piquant rhythms.
