Friends of the Symphony
In the Friends of the Symphony, you will find enthusiastic, creative people who are committed to making a difference in the community by supporting the Lima Symphony Orchestra. Since 1955, we have worked with the the Orchestra's Board of Directors to enhance the cultural offerings of the Lima Symphony. Our members are dedicated to the development of the orchestra and the promotion and appreciation of music in our area.
Through our annual Geranium Sale and Pre-Concert Dinners, the Friends are able to financially assist the orchestra and its programs.
We are also proud to host the annual Young Artist Competition. Gifted high school and college musicians come from around the country to compete for cash awards. Division winners have the opportunity to be invited to perform as featured soloist with the LSO at a regular subscription concert.
We gather socially for updates on our activities three times a year -- the Autumn Tea, the Midwinter Brunch, and the Spring New Member Luncheon. Also, the Notable Luncheon is an informative and delightful hour to learn about the upcoming orchestra program
We invite you to become a Friend of the Symphony.
Elizabeth Meyer, President, Friends of the Symphony.
