Baby's 1st Symphony
Who says classical music is only for adults? The Lima Symphony Orchestral presents Baby's 1st Symphony. You may be familiar with classical composers, such as Bach, Beethoven and Mozart. Studies show a relationship between listening to classical music and the development of cognitive skills. Babies as young as 3 months can pick out complex musical structure and even recognize classical music selections they have heard before. Researchers think the complexity of classical music is what primes the brain to solve spatial problems more quickly. Other studies have shown classical music to affect health in a positive way by increasing endorphin levels, boosting the immune system, strengthening memory, regulating stress-related hormones and improving coordination. Lighthouse Strings, an ensemble of musicians from the Lima Symphony Orchestra perform both exciting and soothing music that is sure to make your babies imagination dance, such as: Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, Arrival of the Queen of Sheba from 'Solomon', Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring and Sheep May Safely Graze. Baby's 1st Symphony is a 30 minute multi-media concert designed to give children, from birth to age six, a gentle introduction to classical music.
