We continue our exploration of American music with An American Tapestry, conducted by Fernanda Lastra. From the brilliant orchestral colors of Garrop to the lyrical beauty of Barber’s Violin Concerto, this program highlights the expressive breadth of the American symphonic tradition. The orchestra also explores the foundational sounds of early American symphonist Chadwick and the evocative landscapes of Dvořák’s American Suite. The program concludes with the joyful rhythms and infectious energy of Bernstein’s On the Town Dances, bringing this musical journey through imagination, humor, dance, and expression to a vibrant close.
