Adam Martin

Guitarist Adam Martin hails from Burlington, Ontario, Canada, and has been performing live across North America for over 30 years. He holds an audio engineering diploma from the Recording Arts Program of Canada and is an active singer-songwriter and studio engineer. He also serves as a driver for the Canadian Red Cross.

Martin has been performing with Jeans ’n Classics for many years and has greatly enjoyed working with the many outstanding symphony orchestras they have encountered along the way.

David Blamires

David Blamires was born in Yorkshire, England, and raised in London, Ontario. He began his music career as a prolific session vocalist in Toronto, contributing to thousands of jingles, album recordings, and soundtracks.

As a member of the U.S.-based Pat Metheny Group from 1986 to 1997, Blamires appeared on three Grammy Award-winning albums and performed for audiences around the world. During that time, he also recorded and released his own contemporary jazz album, The David Blamires Group, which was distributed throughout the U.S. and Canada.

In 1997, Blamires relocated from Toronto to Chicago to serve as a staff composer for a leading music and audio production company. There, he wrote and recorded music for television and radio commercials for major clients including American Airlines, Coors, Procter & Gamble, McDonald’s, and Kraft.

Today, Blamires performs regularly in Chicago, in Italy, and across North America as a featured vocalist with Jeans ’n Classics.

Jeff Christmas

Jeff Christmas is a Canadian composer, arranger, conductor, drummer, and percussionist who studied at York University (Toronto), Western University (London), and Berklee College of Music (Boston).

Christmas is currently the Principal Pops Conductor of the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra. His compositions and arrangements are in demand internationally and have been performed by symphonies and ensembles around the world. He has appeared as a guest conductor with numerous orchestras across North America, including the Tucson Symphony, Calgary Philharmonic, Fresno Philharmonic, Winnipeg Symphony, Roanoke Symphony, Victoria Symphony, South Dakota Symphony, Vancouver Island Symphony, Lexington Philharmonic, and Jacksonville Symphony.

As the drummer and conductor with Jeans ’n Classics, he travels extensively throughout the U.S. and Canada and has performed with artists such as Denny Doherty, Michael Burgess, The Rankins, Ashley MacIsaac, and Martin Fry (ABC). For over a decade, Christmas has served as conductor for Roger Hodgson (formerly of Supertramp) and, in 2014, conducted for legendary multi–Grammy Award–winning artist Michael Bolton.

Christmas was the Musical Director for London’s tribute to Olympic athletes, Inspiring a Dream, which featured his original compositions “With Glowing Hearts” and “Carry the Light.” He also served as Musical Director and Arranger for the opening of the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, where he conducted the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra with guest artists Randy Bachman, Burton Cummings, Tom Cochrane, Doc Walker, and Chantal Kreviazuk.

His music for the Opening Ceremonies of the Canada Games premiered nationally in the summer of 2001. His original composition “River – Journey to Wellspring,” inspired by members of the Wellspring Cancer Support Centre in London, Ontario, was released as a CD in May 2003. His piece “Blue Nostalgia,” commissioned for the 1998 Professional Writing Division Awards Concert at the Berklee Performing Arts Center, received the Millican Endowed Scholarship Award.

In 2002, Christmas was appointed Composer in Residence with Orchestra London, during which time he wrote several major compositions, including Algoma and Concerto for English Horn and Orchestra. In 2009, the Canadian brass ensemble Brassroots released its fifth recording, Cocktails: The Music of Jeff Christmas, which received critical acclaim for the originality of his Cocktail Suite.

Christmas has worked on a variety of feature films and television programs as a composer, orchestrator, and musical assistant. He composed the theme and background music for High Point Casinos (Global TV), hosted by Kenny Rogers, and Chatroom (HBO, BET). His orchestrations and arrangements have been featured in the National Aboriginal Achievement Awards (CBC), and he served as orchestrator and musical assistant on several major motion pictures, including My Five Wives (starring Rodney Dangerfield), Children of My Heart, and Cord (starring Daryl Hannah and Jennifer Tilly).

John Regan

John Regan has been a member of Jeans ’n Classics since the early 1990s. Classically trained but shaped by rock, pop, and folk music, his repertoire is vast and eclectic. Before joining Jeans ’n Classics, Regan worked with Second City in London, Ontario, and performed solo across southwestern Ontario. He cites Joe Jackson, Tom Waits, Elton John, and Roy Bittan as key influences. Since becoming a regular performer with the group, Regan has shared the piano with notable artists such as Roger Hodgson (Supertramp), Lawrence Gowan (Styx), and many others. In addition to his role as pianist, he frequently serves as host and emcee for Jeans ’n Classics concerts, offering both insight and humor—earning him a reputation as a crowd favorite.

By day, Regan is a high school teacher and football coach. He lives in London with his wife and two daughters.

Katalin Kiss

Katalin Kiss is well known in the Canadian music industry as a consummate professional. She has been performing for over forty years on stages across North America. Equally adept in any musical style, she possesses the rare ability to borrow your heart and return it changed. She continues to record for countless producers across every genre.

Kiss and her husband, John, live in the cottage country of eastern Ontario, where they operate an independent record label and recording studio, Tarpit Sound. She enjoys knitting, weaving, and gardening for both therapy and pleasure.

They are the proud parents of three children and two dogs.

Mitchell Tyler

Conductor, arranger, songwriter, bassist, and educator Mitchell Tyler is an Honours Bachelor of Music (Theory and Composition) and Bachelor of Education graduate of Western University. He has been a member of Jeans ’n Classics since 1992.

As a performer on upright and electric bass, Tyler has shared the stage with numerous renowned artists, including Rik Emmett (Triumph), Alan Frew (Glass Tiger), Roger Hodgson (Supertramp), Lawrence Gowan (Styx), and David Blamires (Pat Metheny Group). He has also performed with the touring productions of Chicago (2015) and Mamma Mia (2012).

Tyler’s orchestrations are widely performed by the Jeans ’n Classics band as part of its North American symphonic concert schedule. His songwriting and music production activities date back to the early 1980s, and over the years, he has collaborated with a wide variety of artists on countless projects. A professional educator since 1993, Tyler served as Orchestra London Canada’s Education Director from 2010 to 2013. He has extensive experience writing, developing, programming, and conducting curriculum-linked educational content for symphony orchestras, and he is currently an adjunct professor in the Music Performance Department at the University of Western Ontario.

As a conductor, Tyler has had the privilege of working with a wide range of orchestras across North America. Recent guest conductor appearances include the Fort Wayne Symphony, Springfield Symphony Orchestra, the Erie Philharmonic, the Colorado Symphony, the Jacksonville Symphony, and the Cleveland Pops Orchestra. He continues to deeply enjoy his work with the Jeans ’n Classics Rock Symphony, established in 2012.

In his spare time, Tyler enjoys playing tennis and touring Major League Baseball ballparks in support of his beloved Boston Red Sox.

Robyn Black

Robyn Black is one of Canada’s extraordinary vocal talents. With a career as a singer, songwriter, and studio vocalist spanning over two decades, she is now stepping into the spotlight as a solo recording artist.

Black is one of the featured vocalists of Oakland Stroke, a Toronto-based horn band led by producer Lou Pomanti. “Very few singers can sing tough material as she can. She is that good,” Pomanti says of her upcoming features on his latest album, Lou Pomanti & Friends. In 2022, two new songs from this powerhouse vocalist were released, and her full-length album, to be produced by Pomanti, is underway. She is also a featured performer with the George St. Kitts Band, one of Toronto’s premier sources of musical entertainment. She enjoys sharing the stage with other accomplished musicians for exciting projects and productions.

Music is in Black’s blood. Her parents were active performers on the Montreal music scene, so from a young age, she was drawn to the stage. As a youth, she performed in several musical theatre productions, including Annie, Mother Goose, and Cinderella. At fourteen, she recorded her first single, a pop song called “Freaky,” which charted on Z95’s Top 30. In high school, she had the privilege of performing one of the lead roles in the Manitoba Theatre Company’s world premiere of the rock-and-roll musical The Wave. She has also enjoyed singing national anthems at sporting events for the Canucks, Lions, Seahawks, and Mariners, and was honored to share the stage with the Backstreet Boys.

Black is regarded as a top session singer and has recorded demos, background vocals, and voiceovers for countless recordings and projects worldwide. She has collaborated with Chin Injeti; Justin Gray (Mariah Carey, Avril Lavigne); Matthew Tishler (BTS, Disney, Nickelodeon); Vince Degiorgio (NSYNC, Love Inc.); Craig McConnell (Celine Dion, Keshia Chanté); Lou Pomanti (Blood, Sweat & Tears, Michael Bublé); and many more. She holds songwriting credits with Japanese artists Crystal Kay, Kylee Saunders, and TAEYEON; Korean artist BoA; and American artist Sarah Haze. Her songwriting has also been featured on shows such as Disney’s Austin & Ally and Nickelodeon’s How to Rock. Her voice has appeared in television commercials for Folgers, Belair Direct, Bell Canada, Greyhound, and Staples.

In 2022, Black began releasing her debut solo album through LP Music, produced by Pomanti. Her first single, a sultry, nu-soul rendition of Bruno Mars’ “Locked Out of Heaven”, features her smooth vocals, lush background harmonies, and a trumpet solo by William Sperandi.
